Our clients based in Blackburn have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Manager to develop and enhance the service department within the organisation which is developing with continued success and growth.

As the Service Manager you will be responsible for providing direction for the entire service department spanning three sites across the Company in order to run an efficient and professional operation, always ensuring excellent customer service is given.

You will be commercially minded and have a customer centric attitude and motivated by setting and achieving targets. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and have the ability to negotiate and influence. You will have experience of the commercial catering industry and a sound technical knowledge of applicable refrigeration and electrical systems along with steel fabrication.

Role requirements;

Manage a variety of reported issues raised by clients and end users- warranty calls, complaints and snagging issues in respect of refrigeration & hot Counter display units, fabrication supply and installations across three branches.

To undertake the organisation of on-site installations including but not limited to liaising with Project Managers and Clients to deliver project completion to high standards. Arranging the schedule of work for site installation operatives and managing their day-to-day workload.

Ensuring any issues are dealt with in a timely and correct fashion to ensure business critical downtime is kept to a minimum for end users, and handover dates are met for clients.

Offer telephone advice on use of products and troubleshooting guide to minimise the risk to chargeable warranty calls.

Produce feedback to Production & Research & Development to ensure continuous improvement to the products. Identifying potential issues with components used in the company products.

Produce monthly reports identifying costs by issue, department and site feeding back to management for analysis.

Through constant communication build a good working relationship with colleagues, clients and end users.

Providing quotes for spare parts and non-warranty service calls.

Produce an annual costs and sales analysis for spare parts prior to annual price increase of spares once agreed.

Liaise with external service companies to ensure good working relationships are developed.

Maintain service partner register and delegate warranty calls to service partners as required, raise purchase orders as required.

Validate service partner invoices.

Management of non-warranty service calls.

Raising of chargeable jobs once Purchase Order received.

Using external courier service, arrange collection and track deliveries and provide POD to clients on request.

Ensure warranty procedures are followed correctly to ensure prompt recovery of monies owed.

Undertaking root-cause analysis and investigations to implement preventative measures.

Seek opportunities to increase efficiency of the service operation and increase recovery rates.

Work closely with site engineers and control schedule of service visits
