My clients based in Preston are a well established Engineering company and have a vacancy for a Sales Administrator, this is a 12 month maternity cover contract.

The role will require you to:

Work successfully as a member of the sales department, supporting colleagues with administration duties. To process all customer purchase orders and work within set targets and deadlines. To produce weekly and monthly reports that help support the sales department. To monitor customer portals for changing order requirements. Purchase materials needed for customer orders and monitor suppliers deliveries. Chase outstanding pro-forma payments and late deliveries. Provide excellent customer service.

Main accountabilities:

You are responsible for processing orders accurately and efficiently. You must be able to prioritise work and display high levels of organisation skills. You will be working in a fast paced environment and will need to keep calm under pressure. Specific deadlines and targets must be met each day and you must support your colleagues in all departments as this role requires you to work with all functions of the business.

Role Challenges:

Ability to prioritise work in a fast changing environment

Liaising between customers and production department

Maintaining good customer relations when dealing with overdue orders

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar environment and have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A to C or 9 to 4) including English Language and Mathematics. Able to prioritise work in line with group goals

Able to develop effective relationships with customers and colleagues

Produces written work of a good standard

The ability to communicate clearly at all levels

Good verbal communication skills and telephone manner are essential

Is flexible in their approach and attitude to work

Always willing to take full responsibility for own actions / inactions

The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.15 - 4.45 and Friday 8 - 1
