An expanding Law firm based in Central Manchester is looking for a Marketing and Client Relationship Manager. They are a hugely professional law firm who specialise in Family Law.

This is a multi-disciplined position that is likely to include aspects of direct marketing, research, public relations, branding, communications and advertising. It involves working alongside a wide range of people, both staff in other departments and external agencies such as design teams and copywriters. It is a varied and exciting role, reporting to the Partners and the Head of operations, helping to implement the Marketing Plan of the firm in a hands-on and fast-paced environment.

Key Tasks

Digital and offline communications; researching and creating content for targeted email and direct mail campaigns, and for social media channels

  • Marketing; creating marketing materials , researching, producing brochures, leaflets, newsletters and blogs
  • Internal communications; e.g. publishing content on the firm's intranet
  • Website: creating content, and reporting on web traffic etc.
  • Public relations; building relationships with editors and drafting press releases
  • Liaising with our outside agencies including foreign marketing agencies, design agency etc
  • Continually looking for new business opportunities for the firm to market to their expanding client base.
  • Monitoring and analysing market trends within the legal communities in Manchester and in London
  • Study our competitors for a comparative service provided
  • Explore ways of improving our services and increasing profitability
  • Manage the production of promotional materials
  • Liaise with Business Development
  • Monitor results, present findings from reports to the Partnership
  • Mentor and support the marketing department staff
  • Be business astute
  • Be prepared to travel to business fayres, conferences, networking events

Hours and environment

Most Marketing managers work 37.5 hours a week, between the hours of 9am and 6pm. As with many jobs with tight deadlines, they may be expected to work additional hours at certain times to ensure that targets are met.

Most of the work is desk-based and offices tend to be modern and well-lit. You may be expected to attend a lot of meetings, make regular presentations and also commute on occasions between the Manchester and London office.
