My client has been established for almost 30 years, and during this time they've developed an enviable reputation from within the automotive parts supply sector, having developed close relationships with a host of Original Equipment Manufacturers, enabling them to offer direct supply of components at a competitive price with guaranteed quality.

They now have an opportunity for an Internal Sales Executive to join their sales team based near Preston.

Reporting to the Commercial Director and working mainly within the Caribbean and African markets, the successful Internal Sales Executive will be responsible for increasing sales of the company's products, maximising the potential of both existing customers and new business opportunities by providing technical support to develop existing product groups and look for new product opportunities.

The main responsibilities of the Internal Sales Executive include:

Providing technical customer support / parts identification

Making pro-active outbound sales calls on new products and lost sales

Taking enquiries from customers by phone and email and prepare quotations, process customer orders, process customer and supplier returns

Building and negotiating profitable business relationships with existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods

Working with OEM electronic parts catalogues identifying part numbers

Working with suppliers to obtain competitive costs

Working with the existing team to develop existing and new product groups

Ensuring excellent communication with all departments to promote strong working relationships

Compliance with company and departmental quality standards and procedures

Compliance with company Health & Safety procedures and instructions

To be successful in the role the ideal candidate will demonstrate all or a mix of the following:

Knowledge of the automotive aftermarket

Proven track record of key product groups - CV engine (MAN, DAF, Mercedes) and general CV aftermarket

Self-motivation and the ability to work as part of a team

Effective communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Experience in product development

Experience in using OEM electronic parts catalogues

Experience of supplying to CV Factors / OEM Dealer Networks

IT literacy - experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
