Clayton Nursing is seeking to recruit a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine for our clients purpose built 20-30 bedded inpatient unit providing specialist Neurological Rehabilitation programmes to help individuals return to the highest possible level of independence by improving overall physical, emotional and social skills.

This is a time of significant change for this service; we are therefore seeking to appoint a passionate and highly motivated Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to support the redevelopment of this service and the delivery of the strategic aims of the Board.

You will benefit from a generous salary of £95,000 -£115,000, plus excellent benefits.

Applicants will be:
-Clinical leaders in Rehabilitation Medicine, with knowledge of current developments in the service and understanding of national policy
-Have the ability to lead others, think strategically and communicate effectively; they will demonstrate how they will work collaboratively, influencing decisions and outcomes, and be committed to improving care in a specialist healthcare organisation.
-Provide effective clinical leadership for the Service and will promote effective multidisciplinary/multiprofessional working, ensuring clarity of roles among the various health care professionals involved.
-Provide guidance and direction on development and delivery of Rehabilitation Service
-Participation in multidisciplinary patient assessment and management, including regular MDTs and goal planning meetings
-Provide provision of specialist rehabilitation care and review for inpatients, day cases and outpatients, and the provision of advice to referrers, patients and their families
-Participate in the teaching, training and supervision of other clinical staff as required.

The ideal applicant will

-Present evidence of Full registration with the General Medical Council and a license to practice.

- Have 3 or more years experience at consultant level (desirable)

-Professional training in Rehabilitation posts as approved by the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, and has expertise in Rehabilitation Medicine

-Experience of working with senior management in affecting the development of strategy

- Evidence of relevant Continuing Professional Development
