Our client, an international company with offices based all over the globe have a vacancy for a Business Finance Analyst. This role will be remote so you must be comfortable with working from home for the foreseeable.
The primary focus of the Business Finance Analyst to provide management with meaningful, accurate and timely financial information to support decision making for the Company Channel. Analysing complex financial information developing financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
Develop reporting through existing tools, and through implementation of new technologies and automation through collaboration with wider Group Channel Finance teams
This role requires you to work in a matrix structure working closely with FD, MD, FC and Commercial Managers.
The Role:
Management Reporting
* Reporting of Results Pre-Close and Post-Close complete with variance commentary and action across all entities.
* Responsible for preparation of Monthly Business Review coordinating within the business as appropriate
Month End Project Accounting
* Work closely with FC and Commercial Managers to ensure accurate close
* Validation of long-term contract accounting by review with Commercial Managers
* Assist with reconciliations regarding project balance sheet items to ensure accuracy and explain movements
Forecasting, Budgeting
* Preparation & consolidation of monthly forecasting and annual budget information
* Work with Proposals and Compliance Accountant to review existing & future business to understand compliance needs
Project Module Process Owner
* Be the subject matter expert on project module activities
* Responsible for maintenance of the Project Ledger; ensure all processes associated with the project module are documented and communicated; seek continual improvement of all processes
Other Financial Analysis
* Support FD in development of reporting tools related to the diversification activities of the business
* Support the Commercial Managers in preparation of commercial project margin reviews, ensure regular reviews with leadership team of projects are executed
* Support the Finance Director & Managing Director in the provision of ad hoc financial analysis
Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years' experience in Commercial Finance or Management Accounting role, preferably in a similar industry.
Experience working in a matrix Finance organization advantageous
Experience using SAP, COGNOS and Hyperion beneficial
Experience of developing systems to transform finance using tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI, PowerQuery, SQL
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Sound analytical skills, good planning/ organisation skills, attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to identify problems and find solutions
Ability to prioritise effectively and to work to tight deadlines
Ability to quickly absorb, analyse and summarise financial data in way that is meaningful to management
Ability to build strong professional relationships with colleagues across differing functions with a stakeholder focused approach to Finance
Strong work ethic and driven to succeed
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel
Experience in Project Accounting would be advantageous, although not essential
Systems & Process orientated; focus on process improvement and value stream mapping
Working knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
Please note the Company is part of a larger portfolio, the head office is US based so sometimes hours worked can be later in the day and sometimes meetings can commence at 6pm around month end.
