Our client is a progressive and growing Managed I.T. Services Provider, servicing clients from their Preston office across the North of England and beyond. Working with clients to truly understand their challenges and opportunities, they deploy tailored technology solutions across the cloud, and then provide ongoing comprehensive proactive and reactive support services.

Key to fuelling the growth is the acceleration of their sales ambitions, and the introduction of a dynamic Business Development Manager, not only to drive the acquisition of new clients, but to build and take ownership of the sales function as the business grows. In the short to medium term, you will actively contribute to, and help shape the demand generation process. You will then own the contact with the resultant prospects, develop relationships to understand their requirements, respond in a timely manner with appropriately defined solutions, successfully close sales, and then work alongside the account management team to maintain strong future client relationships.

Key responsibilities of the I.T. Business Development Manager include:

Executing activities to build a credible prospect pipeline

Engage with clients and colleagues in a quality and timely manner

Maintain timely and accurate database of client contact data

The successful Business Development Manager will have proven sales experience but may still be at an early point in their sales career.

They will understand the importance of the basics including timely responses, accurate reporting

attention to detail, team work, self reliance, enthusiasm and be results oriented.

You will also understand the qualities which separate a superstar from an average or underperformer

Subject to demonstrating the appropriate abilities to successfully secure new clients, it is expected the role will expand to encompass leadership of the sales function, with the associated incentives one would expect from such a position.
